About The Position

The Assistant Manager operates store equipment; stocks ingredients and supplies; prepares products; receives and processes telephone orders; takes inventory and completes paperwork; and cleans equipment and the facility. The role includes delivering products by car to customers and distributing flyers, doorhangers, and other marketing materials. On-the-job orientation and training are provided. The work involves standing for most tasks, frequent walking and reaching, repeated bending, and continuous hand use. Duties may include unloading deliveries and lifting cases weighing up to 60 pounds, carrying food and supplies, moving trays on dollies, and occasionally using stairs or a ladder. Delivery duties include carrying orders while walking and climbing, including navigating five or more flights of stairs. The position involves working around varying temperatures, food odors, commercial dust, hot surfaces and tools, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts. Delivery work may expose the employee to adverse weather and requires driving in the designated delivery area.

Requirements

Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
Ability to communicate verbally with customers and coworkers to process orders by phone and in person.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic accurately and quickly, make correct monetary change, and use a calculator if needed.
Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
Motor coordination and eye-hand coordination to make precise movements quickly and accurately.
Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
Ability to work alone and with others, work under stress, meet quality-control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgments and decisions.
Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record meeting company standards.
Access to an insured vehicle that can be used for deliveries.
Navigation skills, including reading maps and locating addresses within the designated delivery area.
Ability to navigate varied terrain, including multistory buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites while carrying products.
Ability to perform the physical duties described, including lifting cases up to 60 pounds, carrying orders, and climbing stairs.

Responsibilities

Operate store equipment.
Stock ingredients and supplies from delivery areas, storage, work areas, and the walk-in cooler.
Prepare products.
Receive and process telephone orders and customer orders in person.
Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
Clean equipment and the facility approximately daily.
Deliver products by car to customers’ doors within the designated delivery area.
Deliver flyers, doorhangers, and other marketing materials.
Unload and stock deliveries, including lifting and stacking cases of ingredients and supplies.
Direct activities and perform repetitive tasks while meeting quality-control standards.
