About The Position

Woodward Tahoe (Boreal and Soda Springs), located in the beautiful Sierra Nevada mountain range, is a year-round world-class action sports facility with a culture that comes straight from our main product: Fun. The Assistant Manager of Terrain Parks & Grooming will be responsible for the overall design, build, maintenance, innovation and progression of our innovative environments here at Woodward Tahoe. This position will provide leadership, administration, coordination, and guidance on all area surfaces, while providing a fun, safe environment for guests and employees. Surface areas include snow slopes & parks, and a variety of indoor/outdoor surfaces such as skate parks, indoor gym floor, MTB, and dirt surfaces. This position will partner closely with Ski/Ride School, Woodward, Events and the Mountain Operations team and communication will be key to success.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must have advance skiing or snowboarding skills
  • Must be able to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to ski/ride with tools or equipment
  • Must have the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Possess the ability to handle multiple tasks at once
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to supervise and perform nighttime job responsibilities on standard swing and graveyard shifts.
  • Must have a valid US Driver’s license

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Woodward design and build teams to produce innovative riding surfaces that drive experience and visitation.
  • Hands on leadership of fabrication and maintenance of action sports park features including metal, wood & snow
  • Ensure riding areas (including snow, dirt, pavement, concrete and skatelite etc.) are built and maintained to Woodward's quality standards for anticipated guests.
  • Oversee the day-to-day administration and supervision of the department to include various features and options for our guests to experience, throughout the winter operational season as well as into the summer to support Woodward camps
  • Ensure effective, innovative and professionally competent operations that are in line with Woodward Tahoe's vision
  • Manage the recruiting, staffing, training, retention, evaluation and motivation of all personnel in the department to Woodwards vison and mission.
  • Assist build and execute a successful budget for the department, including day-to-day operations as well as any associated capital projects.
