The position involves managing employee training, handling employee issues, coordinating disciplinary procedures, and ensuring product quality and quantities meet customer and store demands. The Assistant Manager also oversees building maintenance, sanitation, and cleanliness, and utilizes store technology. They assist in forecasting labor schedules, evaluating employee performance, and enforcing safety procedures. Additionally, this role directs merchandise ordering, ensures compliance with policies, assists with merchandising, and resolves employee problems. The Assistant Manager also handles secondary duties such as recruiting, interviewing, staying current with market trends, providing employee education, and assisting in all areas of the store as needed. They may also handle cash registers and other job-related duties.
