About The Position

Responsible for assisting the Airport Manager in all facets of the program at the local level. This role involves applying standard operating model concepts, processes, practices, and policies to daily operations, ensuring customer service excellence, and managing human resources functions. The Assistant Manager will also be responsible for quality assurance, customer relations, reporting, and providing front-line leadership.

Requirements

  • Must have the physical capacity to walk continuously during an eight-hour shift, with normal breaks (two fifteen minutes, and one thirty-minute meal break).
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all conditions with provided inclement weather gear.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language in order to create basic reports.
  • Must be proficient in computer usage and in Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

  • Apply Block by Block standard concepts, processes, practices, and policies to daily operations to address local needs and concerns.
  • Provide daily guidance and direction of airport customer service operations.
  • Develop a custom deployment plan to maximize visibility and effectiveness of resources (personnel and equipment).
  • Evaluate daily needs and adjust the standard deployment plan to meet the daily needs of the airport, accounting for changes due to weather and other events.
  • Recruit, select, train, coach, and mentor staff to create a cohesive team.
  • Ensure service expectations are being met through regular contact with customers and by evaluating individual employee performances.
  • Actively engage customer representatives and stakeholders to discuss local airport issues and set a course for continual program evolution.
  • Implement new local strategies to continually improve service delivery.
  • Use standard Block by Block reporting processes combined with custom processes to update stakeholders on accomplishments and program effectiveness.
  • Provide written reports of accomplishments and tasks completed.
  • Provide direction and counsel to team members and report concerns to the Airport Manager.
  • Actively participate in daily customer service duties as a working supervisor.
  • Manage shift duties of the ACES while ensuring compliance to all Block by Block standards, procedures, and policies.
  • Maintain a positive, professional environment in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and overall Block by Block standards of expected professionalism.
