About The Position

As an Assistant Manager in Training, you will be responsible for being a resource to loyal customers, providing industry knowledge, and ensuring the store looks its best. You will enhance the customer shopping experience by working closely with the Store Manager and Big Red, providing exceptional customer service experiences to every customer.

Requirements

  • Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and other team members
  • Communicating effectively, using positive language, to internal staff & external visitors
  • Advanced math & money counting skills (Addition, Subtraction, Decimals)
  • High level of integrity
  • Professional appearance and a friendly, approachable demeanor
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Ability to maintain Indiana State Employee Liquor Permit
  • Ability to maintain Indiana State Approved Server Training Certification
  • Regularly needed to stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry and walk about the store
  • Ability to move less than 10 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally, using a dolly when needed to ensure safety
  • Ability to perform all required duties with no supervision

Nice To Haves

  • Progressive experience in a retail environment preferred
  • Prior management experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide and lead others to provide prompt and courteous customer service
  • Develop rapport, trust, and open communication to enhance the growth and job performance of internal staff
  • Assist Store Manager in supervising the day-to-day operations for the store, escalating issues to the appropriate level of support or leadership when necessary
  • Stay organized while multi-tasking in a professional and efficient manner
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, for in-store staff to follow
  • Effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds
  • Operate a cash register efficiently and accurately
  • Evaluate and drive performance for others
  • Perform general cleaning duties to company standards
  • Work both independently and within a team environment
  • Adhere to cash policies and procedures to minimize losses
  • Interpret and apply company policies and procedures
  • Meet any state and local requirements for handling and selling alcoholic beverages
  • Process customer purchases
  • Stock shelves and merchandise displays neatly
  • Comply with all established company policies and procedures while upholding the security and confidentiality of documents and data
