About The Position
Join our mountain team and help keep the heart of Okemo running smoothly! As the Assistant Manager of Fleet Mechanics, you’ll support the maintenance and repair of our diverse fleet—from snow grooming equipment and snowmobiles to shuttle buses and utility vehicles. You’ll play a key role in ensuring safety, reliability, and performance across all mechanical systems.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in fleet or heavy equipment maintenance
- Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills across diesel, gas, and hydraulic systems
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance systems
- Ability to work in cold, snowy conditions and adapt to seasonal demands
- Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred or willingness to obtain

- Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Assist in managing daily functions of the fleet maintenance shop
- Supervise and support a team of mechanics and technicians
- Schedule and prioritize vehicle inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance
- Maintain accurate service records and ensure compliance with safety standards
- Promote a strong culture of safety in all maintenance activities and ensure adherence to OSHA and resort-specific safety protocols
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and provide hands-on support when needed
- Coordinate parts inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships
- Work closely with other departments to meet seasonal and on-mountain needs
- Train new staff and promote best practices in vehicle care and safety
