Operating acute care hospitals, behavioral health facilities, outpatient facilities and ambulatory care access points, an insurance offering, a physician network and various related services located all over the U.S. States, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the United Kingdom. www.uhs.com The Corporate Information Services Department is seeking a dynamic and talented Assistant Manager – BH Clinical Applications The Assistant Manager – BH Clinical Applications Provides strategic and operational leadership for Behavioral Health Clinical Applications, directly supervising Senior Application Analyst(s) and related analyst roles. Responsible for oversight of clinical information systems including implementation, optimization, governance, workflow alignment, and ongoing system performance. Ensures clinical applications support facility operations, regulatory requirements, patient-centered care, and corporate initiatives. Partners with facility leadership, Corporate IS, and executive stakeholders to align clinical workflows with system capabilities. Oversees project execution, analyst performance, resource allocation, ticket management trends, and continuous process improvement. Exercises independent judgment in personnel management, system prioritization, risk mitigation, and strategic planning for clinical application services across assigned facilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required plus 5-8 years of related experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of clinical workflows in Behavioral Health and/or hospital environments
  • Deep understanding of EMR systems (Cerner preferred) and ancillary clinical systems
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards (HIPAA, Joint Commission, state regulations)
  • Knowledge of IT governance, change control, and security principles
  • Understanding of ticketing systems, service management processes, and performance metrics
  • Strong leadership and team development skills
  • Proven ability to supervise senior-level analysts and technical professionals
  • Strategic planning and execution
  • Advanced problem-solving and decision-making
  • Budget and resource management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to present to senior leadership and multidisciplinary teams
  • Travel Requirements: 20–40% domestic regional travel with occasional travel outside region (based on market support needs and projects)

Responsibilities

  • Clinical Application Leadership & Oversight:
  • Provides direct supervision of Facility Clinical Analysts in a market.
  • Establishes team goals aligned with corporate IS strategy and facility needs.
  • Oversees implementation, optimization, and support of clinical applications.
  • Reviews and prioritizes enhancement requests and system initiatives.
  • Monitors system performance, adoption rates, and workflow optimization efforts.
  • Ensures consistent standards across facilities for configuration and documentation.
  • Serves as escalation point for high-level clinical system issues.
  • Oversees ticket trends and directs corrective training or system improvements.
  • Staff Management & Development:
  • Conducts hiring, onboarding, performance evaluations, and corrective action as needed.
  • Mentors Application Analyst(s) in leadership, project management, and strategic execution.
  • Develops succession planning and skill development initiatives.
  • Ensures analysts maintain competency in clinical systems and regulatory standards.
  • Promotes Service Excellence and professional conduct across the team.
  • Strategic Planning & Project Management:
  • Participates in enterprise planning, system upgrades, and integration initiatives.
  • Leads multi-site clinical application projects ensuring alignment with corporate standards.
  • Establishes project timelines, risk mitigation plans, and communication protocols.
  • Tracks project outcomes and reports progress to senior leadership.
  • Acts as the liaison between with Corp and Facility leadership to ensure compliance with corporate policies and regulatory standards.
  • Collaboration & Governance:
  • Partners with facility leadership, nursing, providers, and corporate stakeholders.
  • Participates in governance committees, advisory boards, and change control processes.
  • Ensures clinical application policies and procedures are current and enforced.
  • Maintains strong relationships with corporate IS teams.
