About The Position

Equinox is a non-profit human services organization in the Capital Region with over 40 years of experience providing innovative and effective programs that change lives. Our Adult Residential Programs serve adults with chemical dependency and/or mental illness across four locations in Albany County. The primary goal of these programs is to assist residents in managing their diagnoses and developing the necessary skills for successful community living. This specific vacancy is for the Cohoes Residence, which serves adults with a mental health diagnosis requiring 24/7 support to manage their symptoms.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Five years' experience in human services.
  • One-year supervisory experience in a similar program required.
  • Must have a clean, valid NYS Driver License.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds.
  • Ability to drive and transport clients with agency vehicles.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors Degree in a human services-related degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the day-to-day administration of the residential program assignment.
  • Selection, training, and supervision of staff.
  • Selection of residents.
  • Ensuring compliance with OMH certification requirements and Medicaid documentation requirements.
  • Financial oversight within the program.
  • Facilities oversight.
  • Establishing and maintaining community/provider relationships.
  • Participation in agency management and planning activities.
  • Carry out staffing functions (selection, training, supervision, and discipline).
  • Conduct quality assurance activities, including participation in the compliance program.
  • Compile essential reports (including clinical, supervisory, fiscal, regulatory, and evaluative).
  • In the absence of the Program Manager, review Treatment Plans, Quarterly Case Reviews, and Functional Skills Assessments according to OMH, Medicaid, and internal Quality Assurance standards.
  • Independently follow through on unresolved client and/or staff issues.
  • Ensure that all records are maintained consistent with regulations (OMH, HIPAA, etc.).
  • Independently complete all per diem staff scheduling, orientation, supervision, and annual evaluations.
  • Perform thorough medication verification/quality assurance on a weekly basis.
  • Monitor controlled substances on a weekly basis as per protocol.
  • Train staff in the assessment of client needs in the first 28 days of admission, including completion of initial assessment, functional skills assessment, and initial treatment plans.
