About The Position
Lead accounting and financial reporting activities for the American Honda Motor Co., Inc. Automobile Business Segment, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and SOX audits. Ensure work is performed in accordance with IFRS, US GAAP, and SOX, and collaborate with North American Honda subsidiaries on automobile business performance. The role focuses on reporting and analysis for revenue, sales incentives, and royalties; applying accounting guidance to new transactions and standards; and developing staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Five or more years of public accounting experience or seven or more years of private accounting experience.
- Technical accounting analysis under IFRS and US GAAP, including application of the standards.
- Management or supervisory experience.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a manufacturing and/or distribution company.
- Experience in a multinational company.
- SAP knowledge.
- CPA.
Responsibilities
- Manage and review financial reporting and account analysis for AHM Automobile Segments, with a primary focus on revenue, sales incentives, and royalties.
- Coordinate quarterly and annual financial audits, including SOX compliance.
- Prepare and present account analysis from business performance perspectives to management.
- Implement new accounting standards and modify existing reporting in accordance with IFRS.
- Write accounting memos for new transactions and determine accounting treatment based on appropriate accounting guidance.
- Work closely with AHM and other North American entities amid Honda reorganization activities.
- Develop and train staff by transferring knowledge, providing challenging work, and encouraging questions and process improvements.
