About The Position
Gaines Investment Trust is seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Maintenance Supervisor to support operations at Villas at Katy Trail Apartments in Uptown Dallas. This role is ideal for a strong Maintenance Technician ready to step into a leadership position while continuing to work hands-on with the team. The position offers a compensation of $23–$28 per hour based on experience, plus monthly performance bonuses. The schedule is Monday – Friday with an on-call rotation required. This role provides a clear path to a Lead Maintenance Supervisor role and the opportunity to grow within a large, well-established community with stable, long-term ownership.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- HVAC certification required
- 2+ years of apartment maintenance experience
- Strong troubleshooting skills across multiple trades
- Ability to take initiative and support team leadership
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude
- Ability to live within a reasonable commute to Uptown Dallas
Responsibilities
- Support the Lead Maintenance Supervisor in overseeing daily maintenance operations
- Diagnose and complete service requests including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and appliances
- Assist with apartment turns, including painting, repairs, and unit readiness
- Help prioritize work orders and ensure timely completion
- Maintain pool, grounds, and common areas to company standards
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs
- Assist with inventory and supply management
- Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies
- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with residents
