About The Position

The Assistant Maintenance Manager helps maintain the community and provide residents with a positive living experience through Gables’ signature service. The role involves addressing mechanical challenges, from touch-up painting to plumbing and electrical repairs, and maintaining vacant and occupied apartment homes to the Gables Standard. The position requires serving on call on a rotational basis any day of the week, year-round.

Requirements

• Experience in building maintenance, unit inspections, preventative maintenance, and related trades.
• Ability to manage HVAC repairs, plumbing and electrical installations, and general repairs.
• Task-oriented and punctual, with the ability to meet required deadlines.
• Flexible and able to participate in a year-round rotating on-call schedule.
• Motivation to maintain the appearance of the community and the condition of vacant and occupied apartment homes.

Responsibilities

• Perform HVAC repairs, plumbing and electrical installations, and general repairs throughout the community.
• Maintain the community and apartment homes to provide residents with a positive living experience and meet the Gables Standard.
• Complete day-to-day maintenance tasks on time and address recurring community needs.
• Conduct unit inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Serve on call on a rotational basis any day of the week, 52 weeks a year.
