About The Position

The Atlantic Oceanside Hotel and Event Center is seeking a dedicated Assistant Maintenance Manager to support its Facilities team. In this full-time, year-round role, the Assistant Maintenance Manager will work closely with the Maintenance Manager and Facilities Director to help oversee the maintenance and overall condition of the oceanfront property. This role is key in ensuring a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for guests and team members. Responsibilities include assisting with daily operations, responding to unexpected repairs, and helping lead and support the team to deliver an exceptional guest experience. This position offers an opportunity for leadership growth while remaining hands-on. The maintenance team also supports the adjacent Bayview Hotel, ensuring consistent upkeep and high standards across both properties.

Requirements

  • Previous maintenance experience required
  • Working knowledge of building systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general maintenance
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability and willingness to be hands-on and support the team daily
  • Ability to lift up to 65 lbs and perform physical tasks in various environments
  • CPO certification or willingness to obtain
  • Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and team-first mindset

  • Leadership or supervisory experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Support the Maintenance Manager in leading, scheduling, and assisting the maintenance team
  • Help oversee daily maintenance operations, including guest requests, repairs, and preventative maintenance
  • Perform and assist with troubleshooting across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general systems
  • Maintain high property standards across guest rooms, public spaces, and grounds
  • Assist with inventory management of tools, equipment, and supplies
  • Help train, coach, and support team members to ensure strong performance
  • Coordinate with vendors and assist with larger repair projects and property improvements
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless guest experience
  • Participate in on-call rotation and respond to urgent maintenance needs as required
  • Step in to lead operations in the absence of the Maintenance Manager
