About The Position

Riverside Health and Rehabilitation Center is seeking an experienced Assistant Maintenance Director to help keep its skilled nursing facility safe, comfortable, and well maintained. This hands-on, full-time position supports the Maintenance Director with daily repairs, preventive maintenance, and building operations. The role is based at the center in Trenton, New Jersey, and pays $24–$26 per hour.

Requirements

Previous maintenance experience in a skilled nursing facility is required.
Working knowledge of general building maintenance, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
Familiarity with life safety requirements in a healthcare setting.
Ability to troubleshoot problems, prioritize assignments, and follow through on repairs.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with residents, staff, and vendors.

Nice To Haves

Supervisory or maintenance leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform general building repairs, including basic plumbing, electrical work, painting, and carpentry.
Complete preventive maintenance on building systems and equipment.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests from residents and staff.
Assist the Maintenance Director with daily assignments, inspections, and maintenance records.
Help maintain compliance with applicable life safety, fire safety, and facility requirements.
Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors as assigned.
Identify and promptly report equipment failures, safety hazards, and repair needs.
Complete work safely while respecting residents’ privacy, comfort, and daily routines.
