About The Position

Assist the Senior Lunchroom Manager in meal production at High Schools, K-12/ 3-12 buildings to ensure meal service is on time, prepared according to recipes, and available in adequate amounts. Support the Senior Lunchroom Manager with office functions of a clerical nature in order to maintain updated work manuals and records and to provide a variety of required reports. Perform all duties of the Senior Lunchroom Manager in the absence of the Senior Lunchroom Manager Enforce state, local federal and Board of Education sanitation standards and regulations so that equipment and work areas are clean, food is properly handled and stored, and dishes and other utensils are free of bacteria. Maintain tight control of inventory and storage supplies.

Requirements

  • One year of experience in volume food preparation and service with any other school system (must have included cooking and/or in-charge responsibilities); OR one year of responsible paid work experience as a cook and/or manager in volume food preparation and service; OR successful completion of an accredited program in food management or equivalent.
  • ODH Level 2 Food Manager Certification required within 1 year of hire.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License.
  • Must be at least 18 years old by the application deadline date.

  • Ability to estimate requirements accurately, and set reasonable priorities.
  • Ability to deal effectively with all types of people.
  • Ability to read, interpret, convert and follow recipes.
  • Ability to write legibly.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations, including use of fractions, decimals and percentages.
  • Ability to keep work environment neat and orderly.
  • Ability to work under pressure of time to complete schedules, production changes, etc.
  • Ability to handle and account for moneys collected.
  • Ability to learn computer functions for back of house: inventory, payroll, ordering, email, employee evaluations, Google drive.
  • Ability to function effectively without close supervision.
