About The Position

Blachford Lodge by Arctic Kingdom is a premier remote northern hospitality operation located in the Northwest Territories, offering year-round, immersive wilderness experiences in one of Canada’s most extraordinary landscapes. Accessible only by air, the lodge combines authentic northern adventure with exceptional guest service in a dynamic off-grid environment. We are building a strong operational team focused on leadership, collaboration, safety, and delivering unforgettable guest experiences in the North. We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Assistant Lodge Manager to support the day-to-day execution of lodge operations and guest experience delivery at Blachford Lodge. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced hospitality environments, enjoys leading teams, and is excited by the opportunity to live and work in a remote northern setting. You will play a key role in supporting daily lodge operations, coordinating guest services, supervising frontline teams, and helping maintain a high standard of operational excellence.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in hospitality, tourism, lodge, or remote operations
  • Experience supervising or leading frontline teams
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to adapt quickly and manage competing priorities
  • Strong problem-solving and leadership skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in remote or northern environments is considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily operational schedules and guest programming
  • Support front-of-house operations including guest services, housekeeping, and activity coordination
  • Ensure daily operations run smoothly and efficiently
  • Respond to changing operational priorities and guest needs
  • Help maintain readiness of lodge spaces, staff, and guest equipment
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for guests during their stay
  • Deliver exceptional and personalized guest experiences
  • Monitor guest satisfaction and proactively address concerns
  • Support activities, events, and daily guest programming
  • Maintain a strong guest-facing presence throughout operations
  • Supervise and support frontline staff including housekeeping, bartenders, guides, and guest services team members
  • Provide daily direction, coaching, and operational support
  • Assist with onboarding and training of new staff
  • Foster a respectful, collaborative, and accountable team environment
  • Maintain operational logs, guest records, and shift continuity documentation
  • Support scheduling and payroll tracking through Connecteam
  • Assist with incident reporting and operational documentation
  • Help coordinate communication between departments and operational teams
  • Track guest-facing inventory including bar supplies and consumables
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate operational needs
  • Support lodge readiness for incoming guest groups and seasonal operations
