About The Position

The Assistant Lease Administrator is responsible for assisting the leasing and legal departments in the retail leasing process at West Edmonton Mall Shopping Centre. This role will be responsible for ensuring accurate preparation, organization, and tracking of lease documents, while maintaining compliance with internal requirements and contractual obligations. Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a corporate/commercial legal assistant.
  • High level of accountability, expertise, attentiveness, and initiative.
  • Ability to work with a team, independently, and proactively.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and sustain strong cooperative working relationships.
  • Effective time management skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent typing and computer skills, including a strong working knowledge of MS Office programs, Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Must be able to pass a basic security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in commercial leasing is considered a strong asset.
  • Paralegal or Legal Assistant education, training, or designation is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the preparation of letter agreements (offers to lease) and leases as directed by leasing representatives.
  • Drafting temporary leases, lease amendments, relocations, assignments, storage leases, notices, estoppels, and other leasing documentation.
  • Maintain and track landlord and tenant obligations, tenant exclusives, rights of first refusal and rights of first offer, lease terminations and relocations, and registered caveats.
  • Monitor tenant insurance requirements, making sure documentation remains current and following up on expired or deficient coverage as required.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with internal departments, tenants, and stakeholders to support the leasing process and resolve documentation related inquiries.
