About The Position
The Part-Time Assistant Coach/Instructor participates in coaching and instructing student-athletes who are members of the university’s intercollegiate Men’s Rowing program. This role involves developing student-athlete skills, providing feedback, assisting with planning, and ensuring safety during training and racing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Must have strong interpersonal skills including good oral and written communication abilities
- An inclusive and servant approach to leadership

- Intercollegiate rowing or coaching experience
Responsibilities
- Coach/instruct student-athletes in the Men’s Rowing Program.
- Evaluate student-athlete skills; create and execute appropriate lessons/plans to develop those skills through hands-on instruction.
- Provide regular feedback to student-athletes about their athletic performance.
- Participate in scouting; assist with practice and race planning.
- Work collaboratively with the head and assistant coaches, as well as the team support staff to mentor and develop student-athletes on and off the water.
- Ensure that appropriate safety precautions are taken during training and racing.
