About The Position

The Part-Time Assistant Coach/Instructor participates in coaching and instructing student-athletes who are members of the university’s intercollegiate Men’s Rowing program. This role involves evaluating student-athlete skills, creating and executing development plans, providing feedback, and assisting with scouting and practice/race planning. The position requires collaboration with other coaches and staff to mentor student-athletes and ensure safety during training and racing. Recruiting duties are occasional.

Requirements

  • Required Bachelor’s degree
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills including good oral and written communication abilities
  • An inclusive and servant approach to leadership

Responsibilities

  • Coach/instruct student-athletes in the Men’s Rowing Program.
  • Evaluate student-athlete skills; create and execute appropriate lessons/plans to develop those skills through hands-on instruction.
  • Provide regular feedback to student-athletes about their athletic performance.
  • Participate in scouting; assist with practice and race planning.
  • Work collaboratively with the head and assistant coaches, as well as the team support staff to mentor and develop student-athletes on and off the water.
  • Ensure that appropriate safety precautions are taken during training and racing.
