About The Position

INSERM is hiring a Research Assistant in Biology for a 24-month full-time contract at the Institut Cochin in Paris, starting on November 1, 2026. You will join the " Metabolism, Immunity, Cancer and Therapies " team, a leading scientific environment co-directed by Marie-Clotilde Alves-Guerra and Renaud Dentin, supported by INSERM, CNRS, and Université Paris Cité. As part of Marie-Clotilde Alves-Guerra’s group, you will play a key role in the ANR ADIPODIAB research project. This collaborative project (with partners in Paris and Toulouse) explores the biochemical role of the mitochondrial transporter UCP2 in cancer and metabolic diseases. Some biochemistry experiments will be conducted at IBPC (Paris), and the position may involve working in an L2 protected area.

Requirements

  • You hold a Bac+2/3 degree (such as a DUT or BTS) in biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, or life sciences.
  • You have strong foundations in cell culture, biology, and metabolism.
  • You are highly organized, detail-oriented, efficient, and intellectually curious with good communication skills.
  • Previous experience (under 3 years) in a comparable role is highly desirable.

Nice To Haves

  • Ideally with an interest in membrane protein biochemistry or biophysics.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and adapt biological and biochemical experimental protocols.
  • Work with in vitro cellular models (cell lines, primary cultures from human and mouse tissues).
  • Perform advanced biochemical and metabolic characterizations (oxygraphy, Seahorse analysis, C13 metabolic flux).
  • Process, analyze, and clearly present scientific results.
