This position provides clerical and administrative support for the Community Education & Lifelong Learning Department. The role involves performing administrative duties to support faculty, staff, and student efforts, including managing correspondence, processing communications, handling mail, answering phones and emails, arranging conference calls, and maintaining the supervisor's schedule. The assistant will also communicate program information, assist students, and perform general clerical duties such as ordering supplies, maintaining files, and duplicating documents. Data gathering, compilation, and entry are key, along with producing reports and maintaining tracking systems. There may be opportunities to design and produce informational materials, update webpages, or manage social media. The role requires responding to inquiries, accessing information, and collaborating with staff to resolve issues for students, employees, and the public. Maintaining schedules, calendars, and appointments, including departmental meetings and events, is also part of the responsibilities. Budgetary tasks may include inputting figures, preparing requisitions, tracking expenditures, taking payments, and assisting with procurement. The position may also serve as a technical resource for office equipment and computer hardware/software, and may be assigned special projects.
