Requirements

Experience or working knowledge of supporting individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities
Ability to remain calm, professional, and safety‑focused when responding to challenging or aggressive behaviors
Strong understanding of de‑escalation techniques and willingness to use trained safety interventions
Leadership and coaching skills to guide and support direct care staff
Knowledge of behavior support plans, incident reporting, and documentation
Ability to make sound decisions in high‑stress or crisis situations
Clear communication skills, both written and verbal
Commitment to dignity, respect, consistency, and safety for individuals served

Responsibilities

Support the development of behavior support plans tailored to each client's unique needs.
Navigate challenging behaviors.
Collaborate closely with a passionate team.
Promote a culture of fun and adventure.
Ensure that thorough documentation is maintained for every individual served.
Support young men with developmental and intellectual disabilities in a residential group home setting.
Provide hands-on support and oversee daily routines while prioritizing the safety and well-being of everyone in the home.
Actively help de-escalate situations and follow behavior support plans.
Model appropriate responses for your team.
Balance direct care, staff supervision, documentation, and problem-solving.
Play a vital part in maintaining a structured environment.
Guide and support Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), ensuring effective implementation of behavior support plans and thorough incident documentation.
Make sound decisions in high-stress or crisis situations.
