About The Position

The Arc of the Quad Cities Area has an opening for two 3rd Shift Assistant Group Home Supervisors at our group homes. Requirements

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license in good standing and vehicle with appropriate auto insurance required.
• Ability to pass background checks for both the state of Iowa and Illinois.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs to assist in the lifting and transferring of individuals weighing more than 100 lbs.
• One year of direct service in the human services (Healthcare) field is required.

Nice To Haves

• College coursework preferred.
• One year of supervisory experience preferred.
• Direct Service Provider certification preferred or the ability to obtain within 120 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing a large number of third-shift Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) for the Residential Program Manager.
• Ensuring the smooth operation of assigned homes.
• Providing individual care and training for the individuals we serve.
• Managing staff supervision, training, and discipline.
• Maintaining a clean and safe environment.
• Coordinating individualized development plans.
• Ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Performing DSP tasks to fill gaps, such as when an employee is absent, during new-hire and ongoing training, and in similar situations.
• Addressing urgent issues or emergencies that may arise.
• Direct personal and health care responsibilities.
• Effective communication with families and community partners.
• Occasional driving for safety checks and support.
• Flexibility to work weekends and perform emergency drills.
• Traveling between different group homes within a single shift.
