About The Position
The Assistant Grocery Manager provides fast, friendly, helpful, and efficient service to Price Chopper customers and assists with operating the grocery department. The role supports the Grocery Manager in department operations and financial performance, oversees grocery clerks, and monitors merchandising, product rotation, and inventory levels to support sales. The position may also provide front-end services as business needs require and may be responsible for the store at the need and discretion of the Store Manager.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to manage others and demonstrate follow-through to achieve desired results and objectives.
- Satisfactory performance reviews.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- High school degree or equivalent.
- 6–12 months of related experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide fast, friendly, helpful, and efficient customer service, including smiling, making eye contact, and thanking customers.
- Maintain a neat, clean, and organized workstation according to 5S standards.
- Assist the Grocery Manager with daily department operations, including merchandising, pricing, stocking, signing, plan-o-grams, displays, product rotation, and inventory levels.
- Assist with ordering grocery merchandise and supplies, meet transmission times, and store excess product in the back room or designated area.
- Maintain customer courtesy and service throughout the store.
- Provide front-end services when business needs require.
- Ensure company and state sanitation and pricing procedures and regulations are followed in grocery operations.
- Unload warehouse merchandise from trucks.
- Assist with training and developing new associates in grocery operations.
- Take responsibility for the store when needed and at the Store Manager’s discretion.
- Control shrink by following related policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management and comply with company policies and procedures.
