About The Position

This position is responsible for assisting the Superintendents in supervising crew, dispersing daily crew work assignments, and participating in the maintenance of the golf courses. The role ensures golf course grounds are maintained at pristine, tournament quality conditions. It involves assisting in supervising and training a crew of 20 plus employees, maintaining and directing repairs to the irrigation system, and ensuring that all fertilizer and pesticide applications are applied and recorded according to the product label. The position also requires operating and maintaining golf course equipment when necessary and following all state and local safety and environmental standards. Other duties may be directed.

Requirements

• Extensive knowledge of turf, soil, fertilizers, pesticides, golf course equipment and irrigation technology.
• Possess strong communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work flexible schedule and long hours when necessary.
• Keen attention to detail and strong sense of urgency.
• SC Certified pesticide applicators license or able to obtain one within 60 days.

Nice To Haves

• 2 or 4 year degree in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, Facilities Maintenance or related field
