The Assistant General Manager (FFC) is responsible for executing daily production plans to meet or exceed customer service level expectations while achieving maximum operating efficiency safely. This role ensures the daily balancing of labor availability and volume requirements, and oversees the inspection of the physical condition of the distribution center and equipment, directing needed maintenance and/or repair. The Assistant General Manager develops, analyzes, and recommends operational and systemic improvements to meet current and future service, throughput, and cost objectives. They are also responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, developing, and retaining effective shift management teams in partnership with Talent Acquisition. In conjunction with HR, they develop, implement, and measure the effectiveness of associate training programs. This role sets goals, communicates clear expectations for managers, and provides timely and constructive feedback, ensuring the necessary resources and support for successful and safe facility operations. Effective communication with managers and associates regarding business objectives and current issues is crucial. The Assistant General Manager provides management team members with meaningful developmental opportunities and prepares them for upward promotion, delegates responsibilities, and fosters open dialogue amongst associates. They work closely with associates to set goals, provide open feedback and coaching to drive performance improvement, and align team efforts to build accountability and measure progress. This role identifies and addresses improvement opportunities, leading the entire facility through change, and ensures all safety policies and procedures are implemented and observed, with equipment and work areas being clean and well organized.
