About The Position

Assist the General Manager and Assistant General Manager in overseeing all operations of the restaurant. This role involves supervising and managing staff, performing various restaurant duties, coordinating catering orders, ensuring food quality, handling financial transactions, maintaining safety and sanitation standards, managing personnel, and performing administrative tasks. The Assistant General Manager is expected to contribute to improving the overall restaurant operation and may travel for training or to other locations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required
  • 2+ years of previous work experience in a high volume quick service restaurant
  • Experience leading a team
  • Proficient in the following restaurant functions: food planning and preparation, purchasing, sanitation, and restaurant safety
  • Passionate about food and hospitality
  • Possess basic math skills and have the ability to work a cash register or POS system
  • Able to complete tasks on or before set deadline.
  • Able to work well with others, set an exemplary example of leadership and respectful communication.
  • Must enjoy and succeed in a fast-paced environment
  • Must pass Food Handler Management course and test
  • Must be able to transfer to another California Chicken Café location within a 50-mile radius
  • Fully documented to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising and managing staff members to ensure compliance with all restaurant policies and procedures.
  • Performing restaurant duties including working the POS system, assisting guests in the Drive-Up Service, making food tickets, working the chicken station, wrap station, front line, and in the back kitchen when necessary.
  • Coordinating catering orders and deliveries.
  • Knowing all menu items, ingredients, and recipes, and being familiar with food preparation.
  • Controlling food quality and consistency.
  • Interacting with and handling guest issues.
  • Completing armored car transactions and deposits and basic restaurant accounting.
  • Ensuring restaurant supplies orders are placed, including produce, pita, and chicken.
  • Ensuring work safety by ensuring staff members are complying with all safety procedures.
  • Ensuring food safety by completing tasks such as taking food temperatures and maintaining safe food practices.
  • Interacting with health department inspectors.
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and sanitary restaurant.
  • Maintaining a positive and friendly work environment.
  • Managing staff member breaks.
  • Participating in weekly supervisor meetings.
  • Motivating, training, and developing staff members in specific job functions, as well as coaching and counseling staff members on an ongoing basis.
  • Handling and reporting specified HR-related situations.
  • Performing required administrative duties and filling out required operational checklists.
  • Communicating with upper management on various projects.
  • Making suggestions on how to improve the overall restaurant operation.
  • Coordinating restaurant maintenance repairs.
  • Traveling to training events and/or other restaurant locations.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
