About The Position

We're looking for an enthusiastic Assistant General Manager to help lead our hotel operations, create memorable guest experiences, and drive business success. As the Assistant General Manager, you'll partner with the General Manager to oversee daily operations, motivate a high-performing team, and ensure every guest leaves with a reason to return. Requirements

  • At least one year of hotel management experience.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop successful teams.
  • Strong communication skills with guests, associates, and leadership.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in Hospitality Management or Business preferred.
  • Experience with budgeting, payroll, purchasing, and cost control.
  • Working knowledge of all hotel departments and daily hotel operations.
  • Familiarity with hotel property management systems (PMS).
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply operating procedures, safety guidelines, and company policies.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of local attractions and community resources that enhance the guest experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead by example and help create a welcoming, guest-focused culture.
  • Support all aspects of hotel operations while ensuring company policies and franchise standards are consistently met.
  • Drive financial performance by helping achieve revenue, profitability, and budget goals.
  • Monitor payroll, purchasing, and expense controls to maximize operational efficiency.
  • Assist in developing both short- and long-term financial and operational strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with all Shaner and franchise brand standards.
  • Be a visible leader who is accessible to both guests and team members.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of hotel amenities, room types, rates, availability, and daily arrivals and departures.
  • Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally, turning challenges into exceptional service opportunities.
  • Jump in wherever needed to support the team and deliver an outstanding guest experience.
  • Recruit, coach, motivate, and develop associates to build a positive, high-performing workplace.
  • Promote a safe, clean, and organized environment by training and enforcing company standards and procedures.
  • Help achieve top scores in guest satisfaction, cleanliness, quality assurance, and franchise inspections.
  • Be flexible and available to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of hotel success.
