Requirements

  • An LLB or JD from an accredited law school and be licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdictions.
  • At least 10-12 years of professional experience in a specialized area of law.
  • Possesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge of principles, practices and procedures of the legal field to the completion of complex assignments.
  • Requires excellent legal research, analytical abilities and an ongoing knowledge of federal and/or state law.
  • Strong leadership skills; ability to work in stressful conditions under time deadlines.
  • Strong communication (written and oral) and presentation skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Pennsylvania
  • Experience with handling regulatory matters before public utility commissions
  • Experience with major regulatory proceedings, including rate cases, energy policy issues, legislative review and drafting, and commercial matters, including interconnection requests.

Responsibilities

  • Performs as a specialist in one or more fields of law and provides technical and expert legal services to Exelon Business Units.
  • Strategizes, plans, conducts and supervises large and highly complex and consequential legal assignments.
  • Evaluates both legal and business risks and advises clients accordingly.
  • First chair representation in transactions, litigation, agency proceedings and/or other relevant matters.
  • Interprets and provides direction on organization policy according to law.
  • Provides legal counsel, communicates and presents to all levels of management, including senior and executive management.
  • Provides strategic leadership for projects and/or teams.
  • Accountable for budgets and outside counsel direction and oversight on applicable matters.
  • Manages relationships and matters with Business Units and outside counsel.
  • Demonstrates superior business knowledge in portions of the business and industry; anticipates and understands trends in areas of law related to the business.

Benefits

  • Annual salary will vary based on a candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors: $190,400.00/Yr. – $261,800.00/Yr. plus an additional $25K in Long Term Incentive Plan annually.
