About The Position

As a member of the Consumer Banking Legal team, you will serve as a trusted advisor to the business, directly advising banking professionals. The team supports a range of Consumer Banking’s deposit products, other financial products and services offered to Chase bank customers across the country. You will engage in collaborative discussions to solve legal problems for business professionals, research banking regulatory requirements, and identify issues with other members of the legal team at JPMorgan Chase. You will join a small team within this large organization and are expected to contribute immediately. As a Vice President and Assistant General Counsel within the Consumer Banking Legal Team, you will support the Consumer Banking line of business in areas requiring strategic legal leadership that keeps pace with business developments. You will focus on serving both the firm and the end-consumer. You will utilize strong analytical and issue-spotting skills in a wide range of legal and regulatory areas, including core U.S. banking regulations and regulatory framework, deposit systems, Regulations DD and E, UDAAP, and payment regulations and rules. Requirements

Juris Doctor (JD) required.
Licensed to practice law and member in good standing in a U.S. jurisdiction.
6+ years of legal experience in a major law firm, large in-house setting, or equivalent.
Subject matter expertise in core U.S. banking regulations and regulatory framework, Regulations DD and E, UDAAP, and payment regulations and rules.
A practical team player who prioritizes collegiality and acts collaboratively with legal and non-legal colleagues and stakeholders across lines of business.
Strong decision-making skills, ability to execute with urgency and precision, and capacity to prioritize and effectively manage multiple matters and projects simultaneously.
Ability to foster and maintain strong client relationships and act as a trusted advisor.
Ability to skillfully use AI tools, Word, PowerPoint, and web-based approval tools to facilitate legal practice and communicate legal ideas to business clients.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic and practical legal advice to business areas supporting consumer checking, savings, CDs, and payment products.
Internalize the firm’s risk appetite to provide sound strategic advice and guidance on new business processes and initiatives, aiming to meet business objectives while upholding the firm’s agenda for fair treatment of customers and employees, and maintaining a strong controls environment.
Advise and collaborate with colleagues across the Legal, Risk, Compliance, and Controls Departments.
Support Consumer Banking products and platforms, including deposit systems, products, disclosures, and pricing.
Monitor and advise business partners and legal colleagues on legislative and regulatory changes.
Support regulatory reviews, exams, internal audits, and investigations.
Act as a practical advisor and manage issues from start to finish to support this dynamic business area.
