About The Position

This is an extra duty position for a 3/4 Assistant Football Coach at Central High School. The role involves developing and implementing an exemplary athletic program that provides the highest quality education and growth opportunities for every student athlete. The coach will work cooperatively with staff, relate positively to parents and community representatives, and demonstrate professional growth. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with school policies, accepting responsibilities beyond the team setting, assuming responsibility for care of materials, equipment, and facilities, and ensuring a clean, orderly, and safe environment. The coach will foster positive interactions among student-athletes, build supportive relationships with the school and community, demonstrate enthusiasm for coaching and learning, promote self-direction and self-motivation in students, and create clearly defined standards of behavior and academic performance. The position requires comprehensive knowledge of the sport, effective instruction, and the ability to adapt strategy and fundamentals to individual needs. The coach will develop and sustain an organized athletic program, employ a diverse range of strategies and resources, clearly convey fundamental coaching expectations, utilize appropriate coaching techniques, and maintain an effective system for monitoring student progress.

Requirements

Prior coaching experience preferred.
