About The Position
Drake University is seeking applicants for a part-time assistant coach. The successful candidate will support a positive academic, athletic, and social environment for student-athletes while creating a culture of excellence and ethics.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Knowledge and basic proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel
- Knowledge of applicable NCAA Rules and regulations.
- Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
- Ability to build rapport and students, coaches and staff.
- Skills to help student-athletes improve through training / coaching.
- Ability to complete work within deadlines under little guidance.
- Ability to develop and sustain relationships with prospective student athletes, parents, and coaches.
Nice To Haves
- Experience playing at the collegiate level preferred.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Coaching experience at the collegiate or professional level preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist with coaching and development of student-athletes
- Assist with recruitment of student-athletes
- Assist with organization and execution of all practice sessions and meetings
- Complete other tasks as assigned by the head coach
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Understand and comply with the rules of the NCAA, the Missouri Valley Conference, Pioneer Football League, Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference and Drake University.
