About The Position

This position is responsible for all aspects of instruction, along with the development and management of a comprehensive NCAA Division II Football program as a component of the college experience, which enhances and supports the students’ liberal arts education. The scope of this role involves communicating regularly with students, parents, University personnel, high school coaches, NCAA, and Conference officials.

Requirements

  • Must be willing to contribute actively to the mission of the University as well as show respect for the Catholic and Assumptionist identity of Assumption University.
  • Strong communication and public relations, management, and leadership skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills in the areas of conflict resolution and problem-solving techniques;
  • Shall maintain current certification in first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and automatic external defibrillator (AED) use.
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional and productive working relationships by working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
  • Must have a current driver’s license and meet the qualifications of an Assumption University Driver.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with all phases of the Division II Football program.
  • Responsible for complying with all policies and procedures set forth by Assumption University, the NE10 Conference, and the NCAA.
  • Responsible for promoting and maintaining an atmosphere of NCAA compliance amongst coaches and student-athletes.
  • Assists the Head Coach in organizing, supervising, coordinating, and evaluating practice sessions, games, and conditioning programs. Utilizes sound teaching techniques in the preparation of games and practices.
  • Assists in developing and implementing strategies for motivating student-athletes to perform at their best in the classroom and on playing surfaces.
  • Assists with identifying, evaluating, and recruiting potential student-athletes.
  • Assists in coordinating personal development initiatives and community service activities for all student-athletes.
  • Serves as a Campus Security Authority for Clery reporting purposes and a Responsible Employee for Title IX reporting purposes.
  • Participates in public relations activities and works closely with the University's athletic communications, marketing, and fundraising programs. Attends athletic development/alumni functions, academic/athletic honors, and other special events as designated by the University.
  • Represents the sports programs in the community as appropriate.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Head Football Coach
