About The Position

Kent School District is seeking an Assistant Football Coach at Mill Creek Middle School. This is a seasonal paid coaching position with a stipend of $3,395 to $4,185 under the Middle School Coaches Salary Schedule. Placement is based on years of coaching experience. The position is posted open until filled; applicants who apply within five days of the initial posting are guaranteed consideration under the Coaches collective bargaining agreement.

Paid coaches must meet district and WIAA requirements, complete the district application process and required training, and have a valid background check. Assistant coaching applicants must be at least 19 years old and hold a valid first aid and CPR card. If hired, the coach must read and sign the KSD Coaches Manual.

Requirements

• Assistant coaching applicants must be at least 19 years old.
• Must hold a valid first aid and CPR card.
• Must meet district and WIAA requirements, including a valid background check.
• Complete the KSD online application process, including professional reference forms.
• Annually complete the WIAA general rules clinic, the WIAA-approved clinic for the sport coached, and KSD Vector Training requirements before the sports season begins.
• Complete Concussion recognition and management with Return to Play Protocols training as required by Washington State law; renew every three years.
• Complete Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness and Training as required by Washington State law; renew every three years.
• Before the beginning of the third coaching year, complete one approved coaching-principles option: district-approved Coaching Principles training, the NFHS Coaches Fundamentals Course, all sessions of the WIAA Coaches School, or another Coaches School approved by the WIAA or local district. Repeat this training every three years after initial completion.
• If hired, read and sign the KSD Coaches Manual.
