As an Assistant Market Grille Department Manager, this position will be responsible for assisting the Department Manager with presenting the freshest, most innovative, and best quality products at a competitive retail price to customers. Additionally, you will ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service to customers and team members. This role involves working with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment. You will also be responsible for checking orders for the day and setting up a timeline and production schedule, reviewing the daily production list with department employees and assigning tasks for completion. Ensuring food display case product is rotated and replenished, scanning the Market Grille area for items and areas that need to be addressed (e.g., coffee, salad case, cleanliness, kitchen repairs, and safety issues), and assigning tasks to Market Grille staff are key responsibilities. You will also ensure the proper amount of staff in the department to handle customer needs, monitor the schedule, check on hours and duties for 14 and 15-year-olds, and monitor department overtime. Controlling inventory through constant monitoring of products, ensuring the supply area is clean and orderly, and rotating all perishable product with every delivery are also crucial. This role handles catering contracts, follows all food safety guidelines, and ensures department employees comply. You will handle and satisfy customer issues, suggest ad items for the department, review and order signage for the department, suggest in-store specials, and do the intercom message. Assisting in monthly inventory, including posting invoices, helping with counts, and calculating intra and inter-store transfers, is also part of the role. Understanding and practicing proper sanitation procedures, ensuring the work area is always clean and neat, and maintaining strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress are essential. Adherence to company policies and individual store guidelines, and working closely with Restaurant and Service staff are also required. You must report to work when scheduled and on time.
