About The Position

MV Transportation is seeking an Assistant Fleet Maintenance Manager to assist the Fleet Maintenance Manager with day-to-day maintenance operations involving CNG and propane vehicles. The role assists with oversight of maintenance personnel, organization of the maintenance yard, and administrative duties. The Assistant Fleet Maintenance Manager supervises the maintenance operation during shifts when the Fleet Maintenance Manager is not at the shop.

Requirements

• Must hold a CDL.
• Must have strong supervisory experience and be able to supervise 30 or more personnel.
• Must be able to track and control parts inventories, vendors, and suppliers.
• Must be able to prioritize, implement, and manage work schedules, projects, and assignments.
• Must be able to manage the financial and accounting aspects of a fleet maintenance operation.
• Must communicate effectively with all levels of staff in writing and orally.
• Must have computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Outlook.
• Must have technical competence in light-, medium-, and heavy-duty vehicle repair and preventive maintenance.
• Must display initiative, professionalism, candor, and tact.
• Must have at least three years of fleet or vehicle maintenance supervision experience.
• Diesel experience is required.

Nice To Haves

• ASE certification for truck or transit.
