About The Position

This role manages various administrative functions for the Public Works department, including timekeeping, human resources activities, fleet and operations inventories, and report generation. The position also coordinates building and groundskeeping needs and repairs. The Assistant Fleet Administrator is on call 24/7 for inclement weather and emergencies. Responsibilities include researching and recommending training opportunities for operations, fleet, and administrative staff, assisting with the annual road program, ice and snow removal, and the annual work plan. This role coordinates departmental operations, ensures service requests are investigated, visits jobsites during the construction season, and acts as a liaison with internal and external customers and stakeholders. Additionally, the position assists in preparing the annual budget for procurement of goods and services for the department.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or the equivalent.
  • Five years of public administrative experience in the public or private sector.
  • A combination of relevant education and experience will be considered.
  • Must possess a valid Class B CDL or obtain a Class B commercial driver's license with air brake endorsement within six months of hire.
  • Must submit to/pass pre-employment background and drug screen.

  • Specialized training or certification in a related field may be required.
