About The Position

Team Gilbert has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to fill the position of Assistant Fire Chief. The Assistant Fire Chief reports to The Fire Chief. The primary function of this position is to manage assigned programs and operations within the Fire department, and assisting in departmental strategic planning including development of policies and procedures to improve operations and streamline work processes. In addition, this position is responsible for preparing and administering operating budgets for assigned divisions/programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Fire Science, Business or Public Administration or a related field.
  • At least seven years of fire suppression experience at the Fire Captain or higher level position.
  • Ability to be a Person of Integrity by modeling the public service work ethic.
