About The Position

We are seeking a candidate for the position of Assistant Financial Controller. This role offers a unique opportunity to play a key part in the company’s financial management. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in financial and operational accounting, excellent analytical skills, and strong leadership to guide a team. Reporting to the Senior Finance Director and Controller, the main responsibilities include: Financial Analysis and Reporting Participate in the preparation and consolidation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable standards. Analyze variances between forecasts and actual results. Develop and deliver financial reports to management. Treasury and Hedging Plan cash flow and currency hedging requirements. Identify financial risks and propose mitigation strategies. Internal Control and Period-End Processes Plan and coordinate SOX activities and contribute to the development of the annual control plan. Act as the primary contact for external auditors. Drive continuous improvement of internal procedures. Perform internal audit assignments as requested. Prepare and analyze segregation of duties and system access. Coordinate control activities with our site in Mexico. Approve and review account analysis. Oversee governance processes. Coordinate period-end closing activities. Team Management and Collaboration Manage a team of financial analysts. Collaborate with team members to ensure accuracy of financial data. Mentor and guide junior staff or interns. Other Related Tasks Recommend improvements to internal controls and governance. Review accounting policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • CPA designation required.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in financial control or accounting.
  • Previous managerial experience.
  • Bilingual in French and English.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, SAP.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Demonstrate leadership and organization skills.
  • Proactive, adaptable and able to manage priorities effectively.
  • Any other combination of schooling and experience deemed equivalent may be considered.

  • Knowledge of US GAAP standards (asset).
