About The Position

The Corporate Controller directs the overall activities within reporting, FP&A, treasury, tax, inventory, cost accounting,AP, AR, billing and collections. This role collects and compiles financial data, oversees the preparation of forecasts, tax filings, financial statements, budgets, auditing, and other reports, and ensures the business unit complies with accounting regulations, standards, and company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • 8-10 years of experience in accounting or controllership as an individual contributor
  • 3-5 years of manager/ supervisory experience
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting functions and department processes
  • Experience managing GL, AR, and AP functions and leading a month-end close process
  • Familiarity with US and Canadian tax requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
  • CPA, CA, or equivalent professional designation (required or in progress)

Responsibilities

  • Establish and document processes that minimize organizational risk while maintaining operational efficiency
  • Ensure all accruals and amortizations (fixed assets, prepayments, goods received not invoiced, freight, warranties, foreign exchange impact) are properly recorded
  • Ensure controls and reconciliations are in place and operating effectively
  • Manage an efficient monthly close process in adherence to group reporting timelines
  • Provide weekly, monthly, and annual reports, analyses, and recommendations on financial statements; implement meaningful KPIs to support business performance management
  • Manage the annual audit and tax filing requirements
  • Prepare statutory financial statements including notes to the financial statements
  • Ensure statutory reporting and group reporting requirements are met
  • Responsible for internal accounting policies, procedures, processes, and related documentation and knowledge management
  • Support the CFO in cash management and forecasting
  • Support the CFO in the budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Support the AP team on US and Canadian sales tax matters
  • Participate in the improvement of system utilization and the progression toward digitalization and automation
  • Undertake other duties as assigned by the CFO
  • Recruit, select, and onboard talent to meet team needs
  • Provide input on compensation recommendations and adjustments
  • Ensure team members have access to learning and growth opportunities
  • Set objectives, conduct regular reviews, and provide ongoing feedback
  • Provide day-to-day direction and support to direct reports
  • Contribute to departmental budget planning and manage team-related expenditure
