Requirements

• Student currently enrolled as a Junior or above in an ABET accredited college or university with a focus in engineering coursework.
• No experience is required for this position
• Ability to make basic computations and to prepare simple plans, maps, calculations, details, and specifications.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Organized and efficient; skilled at multi-tasking.
• Good communication, written and oral, and interpersonal skills.
• Aptitude for critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making.

Nice To Haves

• Enrolled or has completed CSU Surveying (Civil 130), Transportation Planning, Surveying & Graphics (Civil 140), Fluid Mechanics (Civil 321), Soil Mechanics (Civil 411) or equivalent is desirable.
• Proficiency with the use of personal computers, Microsoft Office, AutoCAD - Civil 3D, and civil/structural/surveying software is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of calculations, plans, details and specifications under direct supervision of others, allowing for mentorship opportunities
• Assist in the preparation of applications and documents under direct supervisions of others
• Assist in tracking project documents and processes
• Assist with soils testing, CAD drafting, and basic design under the direct supervision of others
• Acquire experience, skills, and education as necessary to advance
• Build experience and exposure to problem solving procedures and practices
