About The Position

This role supports the Division Manager in overseeing daily operations and administrative functions. Key responsibilities include route supervision, staff and driver management, charter program oversight, customer communication, employee coaching, and managing operations in the Division Manager's absence. The position requires compliance with all company policies and aims to ensure the smooth functioning of the location's operations, contributing to the company's mission of safely transporting children.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in the transportation industry
  • CDL may be required with school bus endorsements
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work early morning hours
  • Must maintain a professional and respectful attitude toward fellow employees and customers
  • Dress in a professional and appropriate manner for a business environment
  • Perform all job functions in the safest manner adhering to OSHA guidelines & other applicable Federal & State laws
  • Execute all job duties while following company policy and procedure
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to use or learn to use internet, additional programs as required and office equipment, including fax and phones or other electronic devices

Responsibilities

  • Support the Division Manager in managing daily operations and administrative functions.
  • Oversee route supervision, staff and driver supervision, and charter program oversight.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Coach employees for optimal performance and take corrective measures when necessary.
  • Manage the entire operation in the absence of the Division Manager.
  • Comply with all company policies.
  • Assist the Division Manager with the oversight of the location and supervision of staff.
  • Communicate job requirements and expectations clearly.
  • Monitor staff performance, provide coaching and guidance, and implement corrective actions.
  • Assist the manager in meeting school district requirements and resolving service issues.
  • Assist with the financial administration of the location to meet targets, including monitoring spending.
  • Aid in problem-solving and human resources matters related to employees and policy enforcement.
  • Assist with student management and address related issues.
  • Become fully trained and capable of running other departments (Dispatching, Safety, Clerical) in the event of a vacancy.
  • Ensure all federal, state, local, and company recordkeeping requirements (Workers Compensation, Driver Exemption Logs, Motor Vehicle Reports, Controlled Substance program, Criminal Records) are met in conjunction with the safety coordinator.
  • Develop skills necessary to become a Division Manager in the future.
  • Be flexible to manage and/or assist other locations when needed.
  • Perform any other management requests or directives related to the overall function of the facility.
