The Assistant Director of Student Engagement develops and leads Oklahoma Athletics’ strategy for building meaningful relationships with the OU student body and increasing student engagement across all sports. The position serves as Athletics’ primary liaison to student-facing campus organizations and departments, identifying ways to connect students with Athletics throughout their college experience. A key measure of success is increased student attendance at Athletics events, particularly in sports outside of football. The role is the department’s internal expert and advocate for the student audience, interpreting student interests, behaviors, and barriers to participation and translating those insights into engagement strategies, partnerships, and opportunities. The Assistant Director works with external operations colleagues and sport-specific staff to coordinate campus relationships and execution. The position also leads student attendance and loyalty initiatives, develops programming for incoming students, advises BoomSquad, and collaborates with Athletics colleagues and campus partners. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with some weekends and nights or weekends at Athletics events as required. Travel is not required. Pay is negotiable based on education and experience, and the position is benefits eligible.
