Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3-5 years’ experience managing and supervising custodial services
  • Basic custodial knowledge
  • Computer literacy
  • Mechanical knowledge
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Good mathematical competency
  • Passion for training, developing, motivating and investing in team members.
  • Positive and optimistic attitude.
  • Ability to delegate, direct and follow up to ensure success in extensive and complex situations.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for organizing, scheduling, assigning and performing daily work routines.
  • Responsible for proactively communicating schedule adjustments or delays to the administrative assistant and/or clients.
  • Must be able to plan and perform cleaning operations, office moves, event set-ups and on-site support, supervise assigned work projects, and coordinate major work projects with the management team.
  • Act as an ambassador for our company values and philosophy.
  • Provide the leadership and communication skills necessary to build a strong team of trained associates and develop a proactive relationship with the campus at large.
  • Truly sensitive to the unique challenges of managing a team in an academic environment.
  • Able to communicate effectively with the customer and responsive to client feedback.
  • Thoroughly inspect events and work being performed.
  • Ensure employees are following safe work procedures.
  • Point of contact for all Special Services employees.
  • Manage Special Services team members on a daily basis with regard to quantity and quality of work.
  • Inspect all event areas frequently to ensure that individual and building inspections meet service level quality standards.
  • Utilize computer aided inspection systems and other department provided tools, etc.
  • Responsible for ensuring scheduled work is completed and that the team works in an efficient and professional manner at all times.
  • Ensure team members adhere to all company and university policies including attendance, professionalism, building security, and key control.
  • Discipline and counsel staff in disciplinary actions.
