The role requires assuming complete charge of an incident without a superior officer. Key responsibilities include supervising personnel, administering discipline, ensuring professional conduct, and potentially assuming the duties of the Director of UTulsa Security. Administrative tasks involve issuing work orders, coordinating with other departments, assisting in policy development, interpreting policies and laws, attending meetings, and maintaining liaison with federal, state, and local agencies. The role is also responsible for recruitment, pre-employment screening, analyzing crime trends, managing crime statistics and reporting systems, scheduling personnel, developing security plans for special events, conducting investigations, reviewing reports, coordinating with public safety agencies, developing crime prevention programs, assisting with emergency management plans, completing payroll, assisting with budget management, serving as Fleet Management Officer, establishing metrics, and ensuring operational readiness of emergency systems.
