About The Position

The Assistant Director of Security and Loss Prevention will report to the Director of Security and Loss Prevention. This role is responsible for assisting with the training and development of Security & Safety Programs throughout the hotel. The position requires a thorough understanding of all relevant Federal, State, and Local laws. Flexibility with scheduling, including evenings and late nights, is necessary. The Assistant Director will manage the security team's daily operational needs, including scheduling, payroll, lost and found, coaching, development, disciplinary actions, recruitment, attending operations meetings, and facilitating training sessions. A key aspect of this role is to create a positive, team-oriented work environment through open communication, empathy, and support. The Assistant Director will also complete regular quality assurance inspections, ensure departmental schedules align with service commitments and business needs, investigate claims efficiently, and resolve guest complaints and emergency situations. Building strong relationships, conducting monthly communication meetings, ensuring colleague appearance meets grooming standards, and conducting daily shift briefings are also essential. The role requires adherence to all Occupational Health and Safety regulations and assistance with financial tasks such as ordering, month-end processes, forecasting, and budgeting. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years Management Experience
  • New York State Security Guard Certification required
  • Valid C.P.R. certification required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Labor relations knowledge
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong Investigative Skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the luxury sector of the New York market is an asset
  • Fire Safety Director License an asset

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the training and development of Security & Safety Programs throughout the hotel
