The ideal candidate will direct and control the activities of the Front Desk, Reservations, Communications, Concierge, Housekeeping, Laundry, KFAS, Guest Services, Guest Experience, and Business Centre. This role acts as a senior manager in these departments when the department head is unavailable and assumes the responsibilities of the Director of Rooms in their absence. The Assistant Director of Rooms will respond to guest requests by assessing needs, providing personalized recommendations, and ensuring maximum customer satisfaction while adhering to Four Seasons policies.

Requirements

  • Two years previous hotel management experience, preferably in the front office.
  • Working knowledge of the Front Desk and Concierge aspects of Four Seasons services, policies, or operations.
  • General knowledge of Housekeeping, the hotel, and the local area.
  • Ability to operate computer equipment and the reservations system.
  • Ability to read and speak English.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the Department Heads in the Front Desk, Reservations, Communications, Concierge, Housekeeping, Laundry, KFAS, Guest Services, Guest Experience, and Business Centre.
  • Ensures thorough communications and follow-up on any problems, guest or employee requests, special requirements, and hotel initiatives.
  • Interviews, trains, conducts performance evaluations, and disciplines staff when needed.
  • Reviews and monitors schedules of staff in all departments within the Rooms Division.
  • Monitors staff activities to assure that standards are being met, staff is being supported, and guest needs are being met.
  • Inspects all areas of responsibility in the Rooms Division.
  • Resolves customer complaints from all areas of the hotel, handling all guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism, accommodating special requests whenever possible.
  • Assists customers in all inquiries regarding hotel services, hours of operations, key hotel personnel, in-house events, and directions.
  • Responds to all guest requests in an accurate and timely manner, interacting in person and by phone.
  • Assures that financial goals are being met by monitoring and controlling labor expense, and supplies/equipment expenses.
  • Works closely with Reservations, Sales, and the Front Office to maximize rate, occupancy, and total revenue.
  • Maintains close relationships with retail tenants and concessions to ensure guest service standards are met along with revenue/expense targets.
  • Assists Director of Rooms in preparing the Annual Budget.
