About The Position

The Assistant Director of Partnerships is responsible for assisting students in Virginia and Virginia school systems through the licensure process. This position serves as a liaison between Liberty University and students and school systems. The role involves building approved partnership pathways, serving as a liaison with district personnel to improve relationships and recruitment, and guiding identified candidates through every stage of their academic journey. This includes degree and course selection, working with students and professors, bridging gaps, helping students and districts navigate policies, and providing specific resources. The Assistant Director will discuss academic and career goals with students, assist in developing personalized plans, and help districts create individualized semester-by-semester plans. The position requires proactively assisting students in understanding university requirements, academic progress, and changes, as well as understanding degree requirements, including licensure components. Monitoring academic performance and helping students adjust schedules are key. The role also requires attaining knowledge and competency in required software and systems, adhering strictly to Liberty University policies, and representing the University in an exemplary manner. Teamwork, embracing LU’s Christian model and Mission – Training Champions for Christ, and performing other duties as assigned are also essential.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’ degree in Education or a related field
  • 2-3 years of administrative experience
  • At least 2-3 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to work with a team
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, articulated information.
  • Ability to understand, speak, and write English in order to convey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner.
  • Possess public communication skills that allow professional representation of Liberty University.
  • Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature.
  • Proof of a valid driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, LU Driving Approval, and liability insurance is required when driving in the performance of the employee’s position.

Responsibilities

  • Build approved partnership pathways with identified partners to move groups of candidates toward licensure and/or additional degree programs.
  • Serve as liaison with district personnel to improve relationships and recruitment.
  • Be involved in every stage of the academic journey of identified candidates, including degree and course selection, working alongside students and professors, and bridging this gap when necessary.
  • Help students and districts understand and navigate policies, and providing specific resources based on the individual student’s needs.
  • Discuss specific academic and career goals with students and assist them in developing personalized plans to meet these goals through the partnership agreements for that candidate, hopefully leading to additional program enrollment.
  • Assist districts in creating semester-by-semester plans that are individualized based on the student’s goals, available time, and desired graduation timeframes.
  • Proactively assist students in understanding and navigating university requirements, academic progress, and changes that may affect progress based upon the partnership agreements.
  • Assist districts and students in understanding all requirements of the chosen degree (not only courses but elements such as licensure components).
  • Proactively monitor academic performance and help students adjust their long and short-term schedules accordingly.
  • Attain knowledge and competency in the application of all required software, applications, and systems (i.e., Canvas, CRM, Argos, Microsoft applications, etc.).
  • Strictly adhere to Liberty University policies, representing the University in an exemplary manner.
  • Work effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s Christian model and Mission – Training Champions for Christ.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
