The purpose of the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) position is to provide support and oversight to the nursing department by organizing and managing nursing services provided by the facility. The ADON assists the Director of Nursing (DON) in the supervision of nursing care and nursing staff, and participates in various meetings and quality assurance initiatives. This role involves managing, delegating, and contributing to nursing department programs, as well as carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and scope of practice. The ADON performs resident rounds, monitors charting and documentation, and ensures compliance with nursing philosophies and objectives. They also operate within nursing supplies, equipment, and staffing budgets, and maintain current knowledge of applicable Managed Care, Medicare, and Medicaid regulations. The position requires performing nursing assessments, contributing to resident care plans, and collaborating with physicians and the interdisciplinary team. The ADON must communicate professionally, maintain confidentiality, and adhere to Legacy's Compliance program and Code of Conduct.
