Assistant Director of Nursing
About The Position
The Assistant Director of Nursing will be responsible for assisting the Director of Nursing (DON) in managing the nursing department to maintain quality standards of care. This includes providing consultation to medical staff, department heads, and the Administrator on nursing-related matters. The role involves contributing to the interpretation of nursing philosophy and assisting in establishing departmental goals and objectives. The Assistant Director of Nursing will also support the DON with regulatory compliance and ensure effective communication among nursing staff for optimal care delivery. Promoting positive employee relations, a strong customer service ethic, and ongoing staff education and training are key aspects of the role. This position may involve directing the department in the absence of the Director of Nursing and ensuring the integrity of educational programs. Responsibilities also include staff development and identifying current employees for mentorship into leadership positions within the corporation.
Requirements
- At least 2 years nursing supervisory experience required.
- Travel as required for regional or corporate meetings and marketing duties.
- Currently licensed as RN in state of practice.
Nice To Haves
- A minimum of one year of long-term or acute health care experience preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
Responsibilities

- Provide input into interpretation of nursing philosophy and assists in establishing departmental goals and objectives.
- Assist the Director of Nursing with regulatory compliance and ensure effective communication strategies with all levels of nursing staff to promote effective care delivery.
- Along with the Director of Nursing, promote positive employee relations, strong customer service ethic and commitment to ongoing staff education and training, May exercise direction over the department in the absence of the Director of Nursing.
- Ensure Integrity of educational programs offered within the facility.
