About The Position
Worcester Rehabilitation & Health Care Center is hiring an RN Assistant Director of Nursing Services for its 146-bed skilled nursing facility in Worcester, Massachusetts. The facility serves a large population of residents with substance use disorders. This salaried role pays $50–$55 per hour, with weekly pay. The Assistant Director of Nursing assists the Director of Nursing Services (DNS) in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the day-to-day functions of the nursing department.
Requirements
- Current, unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts.
- At least a Nursing Degree from an accredited school of nursing, college, or university.
- CPR certification.
- At least one year of supervisory experience in a hospital, long-term care facility, or other related health care facility.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist the DNS with planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing nursing department operations in accordance with applicable standards, regulations, policies, procedures, and scope of practice.
- Meet residents’ clinical needs.
- Assist with maintaining and reviewing clinical policies and procedures and provide input into their development.
- Ensure nursing policies and procedures are followed.
- Assist with monitoring and reviewing staffing needs, schedules, and work assignments.
- Make rounds of each nursing unit and visually inspect each unit.
- Ensure medications are properly administered, handled, stored, and audited.
- Assist the DNS in reviewing satisfaction with care and services by interviewing residents and families.
- Assist the DNS in developing nursing department safety standards, monitoring employee incidents, and developing corrective plans and prevention audit tools.
- Assist the DNS with monthly nursing department staff meetings held on all three shifts.
- Participate in government agency surveys and inspections and implement plans of correction for deficiencies.
